While travelling through rural India, Zak stumbled across something magical—a group of women carefully tearing old saris into strips, hand-stitching the pieces into long, colorful ribbons. These discarded textiles, once bound for landfills, were being transformed into something vibrant and full of life.

That spark of creativity led to Craftamma. What began with sari ribbon grew into a deeper partnership with village communities, producing hand-spun yarns from sari silk, cotton, nettle, and hemp. Each skein and ribbon carries a story of reinvention, tradition, and sustainable livelihoods.
